Ep 111 Goldeneye Commentary : Do You Expect Us To Talk?

It’s that time again when Do You Expects Us to talk regenerates to a new series, but before we do, we go back to Bond with a commentary. This time its Becca’s choice and it’s a firm Bond favourite starring everyone’s favourite clothes horse, Goldeneye. Hot off the success of the action classic’s Taffin, Live Wire and Death Train, Pierce Brosnan takes on his first outing as James Bond that resuscitated the franchise from the dead. The story sees Bond investigating a missing electromagnetic pulse satellite in Russia while stumbling into the plot and into the arms of a Bond Girl with no established relationship with one another before the action starts.

Listen to Becca, Chris and Dave as we discuss why everything is in the wrong order, what’s up with Q, the plot hole of how Alec Trevelyan faked his own death, Sean Bean getting second billing after already been killed off, Dave explains his frustrations with EON, how Dalton would have come back and Chris enjoyment of whisky after a strenuous exercise session.

Ep 26 Goldeneye : Do You Expect Us To Talk?

GoldenEye_-_UK_cinema_posterAnother episode and another Bond as everyone’s favorite spy regenerates into a smooth talking Irishman. Goldeneye is Pierce Brosnan’s first film as James Bond after a long absence from the screen. Directed by Martin Campbell and also starring Sean Bean, Izabella Scorupco, Famke Janssen and featuring Judi Dench in her first appearance as M.

Goldeneye is an interesting watch as it’s beloved by most Bond fans and considered to be Brosnan’s best. However we pick it apart from the plot that makes no sense right down to that awful Éric Serra score.
