Before we move on to the next film series, we take another look at the music behind comic book superhero movies. Taking us on this journey, Charlie Brigden takes us back to the early days of classic cinema. Looking back at the foundations that lead up to the famous John Williams Superman theme all the way to Man of Steel.

The Dark Knight Rises sees Bruce 8 years on, a recluse in Wayne manner resting Batman as the Dent Act has cleaned up the streets of Gotham. However, unbeknownst to Commissioner Gordan and Bruce Wayne, a threat is rising underneath the streets. The dark shadow of Bruce’s past from the Leauge of Shadows in the form of Bane. Bruce must confront his fear again and find his true self to save Gotham from being doomed.

Nolan follows up Batman Begins with an epic crime drama where Batman looks to a new district attorney Harvey Dent to take over as Gotham’s saviour of hope. That’s until the Joker turns up to throw a spanner in the works by adding a bit of anarchy.

When a young Bruce Wayne witnesses the death of his parents, he flees Gotham to understand the criminal mind. There he is trained to fight crime by becoming a more than a man in the eyes of his enemies. As he cleans up Gotham, a mysterious plot is uncovered that would destroy the city and an old friend returns from the shadows.

Val Kilmer is the new caped crusader who looks like he’d rather be somewhere else, takes on Two-Face and The Riddler while giving a troubled newly orphaned acrobat a home as he comes to terms with his own identity.

After he releases poisonous toxins into cleaning and beauty products, Batman must put a stop to him while coming to grips with his own demons.

We start off with the dark and gritty spin-off from the 1960’s tv show starring Adam West and Burt Ward. Gotham City (Not at all California) has been hit with the villainous group of Penguin, Joker, Catwoman and Riddler as they plan to kidnap not the united nations. Can the caped crusader and the boy wonder save the day?
