Ep 14 Summer Review 3 part 1 – with Dave Bond

So its time to update the old feed so here’s another summer review featuring Dave Bond. As the summer period appears to be getting longer and longer we decided to break this review in half with the world cup breaking things up nicely. So we will resume part 2 later this year.

This episode we muse on the Oscars and how the big films are more sporadic these days. We start with Black Panther and continue on with films such Tomb Raider… was it that bad? Pacific Rim Uprising.. did anyone ask for it? Avengers Infinity War… does it really have a cliffhanger? Deadpool 2…. can you have too much of a good thing? And finally we end on the age-old question, how did Han Solo get his name?

Ep 94 Star Wars – The Force Awakens : Do You Expect Us To Talk?

A long long time ago…. In a galaxy far far away…. Do You Expect Us to Talk continues with the Star Wars saga with the new Disneyfied films. The galaxy finds Luke vanished and an aggressive First Order following the foot steps of the Empire, try to find him. A stormtrooper flees from his post and runs into a young scavenger Ray. Together they must delver BB8 (a droid who has a map to find Luke) to the resistance before Kylo Res and the First Order finds them first.

Long long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, Do You Expect Us to Talk concludes the original trilogy with Return of the Jedi. Luke and Leia set to break free Han from the gangster Jabba the Hutt as the evil empire completes destruction of a new death star. As the rebels plan to destroy the empire for good, the emperor and Vader plot for Luke to join the dark side of the force.

As the Empire track down the Rebel base on Hoth, Han and Leia are on the chase to escape. Meanwhile Luke goes to visit a master Jedi Yoda to complete his training as Darth Vader is on the hunt.

Joined by guest Charlie Brigden, Becca, Chris and Dave talk about Waldorf salads, have an argument about CGI, more Lucas tampering with shit, incest, sexual qualities of an asteroid chase, Chris being a contrarian bastard and why is Boba Fett so popular.

Do You Expect Us To Talk joined forces with Charlie Brigden long, long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. In what is possibly the biggest franchise ever, we take on Star Wars. Going in order of release date, we start with the best and prepare for a steady decline in quality. A New Hope (Oridgaly just Star Wars) follows two droids who run from the evil Empire with a message from a princess. They find themselves in the hands of a young farm boy with dreams of leaving and seeing the galaxy. This sends him on a dangerous adventure where he discovers there’s more to him than meets the eye.

Join Becca, Chris, Dave and special guest Charlie as we discuss what influenced Star Wars, appropriate corpses for kids, Jabba micromanaging his bounty hunters, Greedo shooting first, pink fluffy slippers and why the fuck can’t George leave the films alone or at least make the old ones available?

Star Wars Return of the Jedi : Commentary Track

So we have finally arrived at the end of the saga. The first time I’ve ever watched the series in chronological order.

Join me @CinemaTronix and Scott @Celluloidical as we sit down and finish things off with Return of the Jedi. With a few audio interference sadly (bloody mobile phones) and a few annoying sneezes (bloody dust) we talk all over the last of the Star Wars film (until 2015). This is the one with the most childhood memories for us and with hands down the best emperor momologs.

Scott also talks about Lando’s costume change that didn’t happen, I disscuss what use C-3P0 has anyway  and we discover the joys of Ewok subtitles…… enjoy.
