Ep 14 Summer Review 3 part 1 – with Dave Bond

So its time to update the old feed so here’s another summer review featuring Dave Bond. As the summer period appears to be getting longer and longer we decided to break this review in half with the world cup breaking things up nicely. So we will resume part 2 later this year.

This episode we muse on the Oscars and how the big films are more sporadic these days. We start with Black Panther and continue on with films such Tomb Raider… was it that bad? Pacific Rim Uprising.. did anyone ask for it? Avengers Infinity War… does it really have a cliffhanger? Deadpool 2…. can you have too much of a good thing? And finally we end on the age-old question, how did Han Solo get his name?

Ep 110 The Hateful Eight : Do You Expect Us To Talk?

Do You Expect Us To Talk returns to finish off Tarantino (reviewing the last of the films he has made and not in any other sense) with The Hateful Eight. The second western made by Quentin Tarantino see’s a group of dubious individuals all shacked up in a cabin during a blizzard. A throwback to Revour Dogs, this western is a mystery of who’s telling the truth with their intentions if anyone is.

Join Becca, Chris and Dave as we struggle not to mispronounce Hateful as Hatful, more of Micheal Madson’s sterling acting work, a debate on what scene should be cut out, who is actually in the eight and fun facts returns.

Ep 109 Django Unchained : Do You Expect Us To Talk?

Do You Expect Us to Talk returns with the first of the Tarantino westerns, Django Unchained.  Mixing the themes of slavery with a western along with the Tarantino dialogue and violence, Jamie Foxx plays Django, a slave freed by a bounty hunter who takes him under his wing. Together they go on a mission to resue Hildi, Django’s wife from the rotten Calvin Candy.

Listen to Becca, Chris and Dave as we discuss why slavery is bad is this film way too long, issues with the last act, who might have played Django instead of Jamie Foxx, Don Jonson, a new made up character Schwarlts and no fun facts.

Ep 108 Inglorious Basterds  : Do You Expect Us To Talk?

At last, Do You Expect Us To Talk has returned with the next instalment in the Quinten Tarantino series. This episode we delve into Inglorious Basterds, the first of his altered history movies. Starring Brad Pitt set in Paris during World War Two, a rogue team of soldiers on a mission to kill Nazis are sent to blow up a cinema with the top Nazi leaders to a premiere of a propaganda film. Meanwhile, the owner of the cinema sees an opportunity to burn down the cinema herself to reap her own vengeance.

Listen to Becca, Chris and Dave as Chris forgets peoples names, why is Austin Powers in this film, Diane Kruger should be a Bond girl, why Fassbender would be great as Bond but won’t, Christoph Waltz being great and Tarantino love of food…. and feet.

Ep 107 Death Proof : Do You Expect Us To Talk?

Do you Expect Us to Talk returns in what is the shortest podcast we’ve done for a while. The next film directed by Quinten Tarantino may possibly be his weakest. Made as part of the Grindhouse double feature ( That is also briefly reviewed ), Death Proof was extended for a feature-length motion picture with limited results.

Listen to Becca, Chris and Dave as we struggle to fill time discussing how annoying are the girls in this, how great Kurt Russel is, pointless lap dance scene, how the movie should have played out, is Planet Terror better and how much we’re going to enjoy next week so much better.

Ep 106 Kill Bill Volume 2 : Do You Expect Us To Talk?

Do You Expect Us To Talk returns with part 2 of Kill Bill. Taking a more experimental approach this time around, Volume 2 continues the tale of revenge that sees the Bride kill her way through to Bill, although Bill is the only person she kills in this film (Spoiler alert, fun fact). We also see a flashback to her training with a kung fu master.

Join Becca, Chris and Dave as we discuss is this the weakest Tarantino film, can one dig out of a grave, Micheal Madsen being a Bullseye contestant, disappointing endings, some Spanish guy and how Tarantino really doesn’t understand Superman.

Bill. This half the tale focus on the first two that builds up to the battle of the blue leaves.

Join Becca, Chris and Dave as we discuss who was the original Bill, how viewings can change over time, why The Matrix Reloaded was shit and what is Tom Cruise running away from in his movies.
